Open Writes | Write in Community

WHAT’S AN OPEN WRITE?

Held virtually on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 3:30 to 5 PM CT, we Zoom in, share what we’re working on, and write for ~90 minutes. At the end, we share our successes, and sign off. Easy peasy.

Meet two of our regular Open Write hosts, Kris Abel-Helwig and Rachel Aukes.

What to write during an Open Write? Start writing a new story. Edit a draft manuscript. Suggest a writing prompt to the group. Write a query letter. The writing possibilities are endless. Writing in community creates synergy, and open writes provide structure for deadlines.

Open Writes are part of the Ames Writers Collective FREE Community Outreach Programs.
